First off, I'll be glad to field any comments/complaints regarding
the Compendium in private E-mail or on the roundtable on GEnie CAT 2,
TOP 39. I don't think that talking about it here is appropriate
unless it relates to the topic on hand.
As for the index, I spent several days working on it but I'll be the
first to admit it's not perfect. It is, however, one of the features
that people _usually_ cite as a good feature.
As for the $10 for the disk... The disk isn't quite ready yet
(because of circumstances I'll mention below) and when it's ready I
might just upload it for free (though I'm not promising). The $10
covers the basic trouble of copying, labeling, marketing, and
supporting the disk. Many other books come with their disks and are
either more expensive to start or are made by huge companies. My
margins are already barely profitable. European customers practically
get their books for free from me because otherwise their price would
be astronomical. When the disk is ready, I'll announce a policy and
stick with it.

Now for some other news...
--------------------------
A week and a half ago I was offered a job at Atari Corp. and
subsequently accepted. My position will be in Jaguar Developer
Support and as primarily a Technical Writer. I have nothing to do
with TOS or the powers that be so please don't ask me to comment (I'm
too new to stick my neck out :)
This does _not_ affect SDS in any way except that our address and
phone #'s will change shortly (I'm moving to Sunnyvale later this
week). Our current addresses and phone # will be good for a month or
two more. I am still, as usual, reachable by E-mail (though don't
expect a response this week).
Thanks.
